What does this green car light image mean? It goes on and off when I drive and nothing I do (accelerate softly, brake or coast etc. affects when it turns on and off.

Green is good. The car is "running". You should download the manual and have a good read.

The green car at the bottom of the screen (with the READY text) means all is well. The green car you highlighted with the red arrow means the camera sees a car ahead of you.

Thanks for the pointer to the downloadable manual. This icon means there is a vehicle ahead. It is supposed to change to amber if following too close.
