Here are my bug reports 2025 EquinoxEV - feel free to add some!

  1. Infotainment: google maps allows two simultaneous routes to be active. Every turn they get into an argument.
  2. Front camera fails sometimes, disabling adaptive cruise, starts working after a while. Claims window is dirty but it is not.
  3. Dashboard forward section WRONG COLOR - causes glare that makes it hard to drive when sun is in bad position - it should be dull black, not gloss!!! This is a serious hazard.
  4. Infotainment: Bluetooth login/logoff to phone shuts off current music source.
  5. Getting out of car for a minute turns off Sirius or other music. Defaults to bluetooth when you get back in, so you have to restart music.
  6. Trunk switch hard to push.
  7. Steering wheel printing is very tiny and dull white - hard or impossible to read while driving. Enabling adaptive cruise is not intuitive at all - you shouldn't have to read the manual to know what to push.
  8. Lane keeping is jerky as hell. - not very useful.

I am sure I missed a couple, but it would be nice if someone would post where to send bugs.

There is no lane keeping that keeps you centered, except for Super Cruise. If the car provides a steering input, it is because you have started to drift out of your lane (as far as the car can tell) and it is trying to correct that behavior.

3. Polarized sunglasses eliminate the glare 100%, I hear an anti-glare dash mat is coming soon.
4. Settings > Connections > Phone > Options > Media Source Priority
5. Getting out with the fob and shutting the drivers door initiates the auto-shutdown (as it should). Try leaving the door open.
6. Use the fob instead then. Or the auto open hatch feature. I have no issue with the soft-covered button on the hatch bottom lip. YMMV
7. Yes, you SHOULD read the manual to understand how sophisticated systems work. That said, my ACC is always on, and is engaged with a quick toggle flick.
8. Lane Keep Assist will nudge back if you start going over the lane lines. That's it, it's not driving the car. Also, you need to use turn signals when lane changing, otherwise it will assume you are unsafely veering from the lane and nudge back on the steering wheel.

The problem with leaving the ACC on, is that cruise no longer works when the camera fails! You have to wait until the next rest area, pull over, read the manual, disable the ACC, get back no the road without the ACC, and try again later. Not sure why it tells me my camera is blocked when it is sparkling clean. Maybe I got a bad camera or just a one time glitch.

It may be that some fog has built up on the side glass in front of the lens, John. Try using the window defogger to see if the camera starts "working" again.

Thanks for the account update :)

Just 2 cents on Lane Keeper, as a conquest from Honda the LK feature on even my inexpensive Insight was not lane centering, but was far less abrupt. This seems like it may be a PID tuning issue that would make the feature less jarring.

#13 · (Edited)
I don't feel it's PID. I think it just turns away from the lane marker. At most it's P.

I don't find it jarring at all. I just feel a subtle push away from the line. I let someone else drive it and he remarked that it felt like the steering was behaving "weird". I pointed out that he was running the tires on the lines and once he stopped that his complaint went away. But it was subtle enough that he didn't realize what it was at first.

If it was PID it could ride that lane marker quite nicely 👌

Quick PID primer for anyone wondering why we're taking about Pelvic Inflammatory Disease or whatever 🤔

The wipers don't clean the 4 inches on the sides at all. Just would be nice to fix that.
I don't see this as a problem, it's not really obstructing my view while driving in the rain. My Bolt EV has about the same 4" space between the vertical wiper and the edge of the windshield.

The lane keeper and following distance in the cruise control frequently are unusable due to camera fogging. It takes quite a warm windshield to defog that camera due to its isolation from the general window. Bypassing it is not intuitive... It would be better if there was more of a message and the regular cruise would kick in by itself. I know that they may consider that a safety problem, but it is a pain to have to switch off the advanced cruise every cold day.

One other thing they could work on... The wipers don't clean the 4 inches on the sides at all. Just would be nice to fix that.
I have that problem just only the drivers side. The bigger problem with this, is when the wipers are off and parked they hit each other (not just touch). If I lift the drivers wiper up off the windshield and then gently set it back down, it lands directly on top of the passenger wiper. Taking it in tomorrow to get that adjusted/fixed.

Sorry to hear that, momofkobe. My 2024 has none of those issues.
  1. What are the symptoms of the computer issue?
  2. Roaring? The car has no gas engine so I'm at a loss as to what might be making a roaring noise in the front. Do you have a video with sound?
  3. Which screen won't go off?
  4. The front windows won't go down?

Press the OnStar button as ask them to send a diagnostic error report. Please post it here.

momofkobe posts a problem, blasts the 2025 car in general, then disappears without providing any details. Hmm...

I find it hard to take these type of hit and runs seriously.

I'm having an issue with the front camera malfuctioning a feature that was important to me. I have also had the check engine light come on and the vehicle not want to move almost as if it was out of gas, another issue I have had is with still in gear when stopping the car shut off without warning and quickly cut back on, the passager door has a problem unlocking or being able to open after the car has been sitting for a while. I then had to put it in park. Other than that I really like the car. I have an equinox activ with 1050 miles on it, I purchased it to travel back and forth to City Of hope after being diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer and 8 months to live

What does malfunctioning look like, anglinmelissa010?

I have also had the check engine light come on and the vehicle not want to move almost as if it was out of gas,
Press the OnStar button, have them send you an error code report. Post it here.

another issue I have had is with still in gear when stopping the car shut off without warning and quickly cut back on,
The DIC and the Infotainment screens went totally black, radio turned off, wipers stopped wiping?

the passager door has a problem unlocking or being able to open after the car has been sitting for a while. I then had to put it in park.
From the inside or the outside?
If inside, the inside door handle is mechanical. You pull it once to unlock it and a second time to open the door.
If outside, it depends on how you have the door handle operation configured/personalized. But regardless pressing the Unlock button inside the drivers door will unlock all 4 doors.
Keep in mind the car will auto lock the doors when all doors are closed, the vehicle is on, and the shift
switch is out of P (Park).

NEW PROBLEMS
Receivers go out periodically ( one or more tires show no receive ), and key fob not detected warning.
Drivers window will no longer go down.
I went to lower it to check my mail, and it went half way and then shot back up and won't go down now.
I will try Onstar to see if a reset or something may fix the window thing.

2x after charging (once to 80%, once to 100%) and starting to drive, I have received "Service High Voltage System" warning, and regenerative braking does not charge the battery. "Check Engine" light (car with ! in it) iluminates. Shutting off the vehicle, exiting, and waiting a few minutes, then starting it again resolves the issue.
OnStar reported code P1C01 - Battery Conditioning System
Dealer visit scheduled.

At 100%, regen can't recharge the battery, it's already full (100%). It's like having a full glass of water and trying to pour more water into it... But at 80% there should be no issue, Colorado_Al. Are you keeping the car plugged in when parked?

#41 ·
Another owner got an OnStar error report emailed (Press OnStar button), that indicated the charger could not feed the DC into the battery pack due to a battery thermal management issue. Can't hurt to ask for your own report when the error pops up, Colorado_Al.

I have a 2025 Equinox. We love it. I have found the front camera at driver says is blocked! It is clear but unable to use adaptive cruise control today. This camera has picked up incoming traffic a couple times. I hope it doesn't override me & brake as it thinks it will hit something. The automatic braking is my fear.

Window fog in front of the camera located on the windshield may be causing the "blocked" message. Try defogging the window.
