I forget when the cutoff date was/is, but Cadillac is exclusively EV going forward.
This is what google says" Cadillac plans to exclusively offer all-electric vehicles by 2030, ahead of GM’s plans to do the same by 2035"I forget when the cutoff date was/is, but Cadillac is exclusively EV going forward.
I will try to follow more of its development and see where they price it. I am assuming this will be equivalent to the Equinox in size as I really don't need anything much bigger. The compact Cadillac EUV does sound appealing to me.
At least externally, the L232 is the NOX EV’s almost-exact dimensional twin. The key platform dimension - shared wheelbase - 116.3 inch exact match. Shared heights, widths, lengths all within a fraction of an inch. We’ll have to wait to see other features to determine if the L232 is more than just a badge-engineered NOX equal.I will try to follow more of its development and see where they price it. I haven't even sat in the new Lyriq but I've seen it a few times on the road, it looks sensational. Reviewers were also pleased with its design and handling. I would imagine the Eq have a well-mannered drive. The L232 will have an even smoother ride. I am adding this to my tentative list. For North America, the smaller-than-Lyriq Cadillac EV is supposed to be assembled at the same plant in Mexico as the Equinox EV.
I'm aware of 2 Montreal area dealers that have started informal waiting lists until they get more information.
I'm assuming the Cadillac may get a few exclusive features. If the nicer Equinox trims wind up being too expensive, it might be worth it to consider the L232 Cadillac. I'm assuming they'll try to price the base model below $60K Canadian in order to qualify for subsidies and compete with the new lower priced RWD Tesla Model Y.
Yes, the Lyriq is kind of big for my needs, same too with the price. As far as parts both seem not to support a rear wiper unless Cadillac somehow creatively disguised it.I did a short test drive of the Lyriq at the Montreal Auto Show. It was very nice. Too big and expensive for me, but very comfortable to sit in and drive, and nicely appointed interior. IMO, nicer interior than Tesla.
$60,000 CAD is about $44,000 USD for a Cadillac EV is a pretty good deal prior to incentives. Like the Lyriq I wonder if it will come std w/RWD.For North America, the smaller-than-Lyriq Cadillac EV is supposed to be assembled at the same plant in Mexico as the Equinox EV.

Can't know for sure to what extent it's a rebadged Equinox EV. If it is, RWD is unlikely...$60,000 CAD is about $44,000 USD for a Cadillac EV is a pretty good deal prior to incentives. Like the Lyriq I wonder if it will come std w/RWD.
Hopefully, it is more than just a rebadge job. The outside seems to have its own distinct identity. Can't know for sure to what extent it's a rebadged Equinox EV. If it is, RWD is unlikely...
YesDoesn't this look a lot like the Equinox EV with some slight variations?
