Fisker is already ramping up production in Austria for their upcoming Ocean model. A US plant will be built with Magna Steyra in the near future too. More importantly, Fisker will offer a smaller second model, PEAR, with Foxxcon (they currently make some Apple products) in Ohio in 2024. This will be about the same time the Chevy Equinox will have all trims in production. What's also interesting is that Fisker's second model will have a similar base price of $30,000. Since the PEAR is made in the US it should also satisfy the new EV tax/rebate incentives.

I wish Fisker well. I am amused by the techno-babble they insert in their media releases in order to appear cutting edge. From the piece above, you have to wonder if it's engineers that came up with the following or if it's the result of a drug-induced marketing team's brainstorm. WTF are these and, more importantly, why should we care?
  • "E/E (electric/electronic) architecture, with high-performance computers connected via gigabit Ethernet"
  • "Blade Central Computer with upgradable compute cards in-house"
  • "Zonal Gateways connected to discrete CUs (control units) and virtualized ECUs (electronic control units)"
Henrik Fisker keeps talking about cleaver sounding "revolutionary" features like his "Houdini Trunk", without defining what it does.

I put an early deposit on the PEAR. I might eventually buy one and I also continue to be entertained by the hyperbole to razzle dazzle investors.
I agree with the sci-fi terminology. Congratulations on your deposit. Any interesting updates they have given you?
I will keep following the EQ, PEAR, EX30 until I throw in the towel.

Clearly, that truck is not escape-proof, at least.

US safety regs require that all frunks/trunks have a safety release lever.

I would love to see the final interior design of the PEAR. Knowing HF it will be very different.
We should see the PEAR debut on August 4 in LA.
