Has anyone installed a hitch yet?
Curt the major US manufacture of hitches has a model that fits the Blazer EV
but does not have one for the Equinox EV yet.
Should the Blazer EV hitch work on the Equinox?
The GM hitch costs $899 and the Curt hitch for the Blazer EV cost $249.
I am thinking of waiting for the Curt one to come out.

I’m certainly going to get a hitch, and I’m really leaning toward just getting one preinstalled from the factory. Mostly because I don’t think an aftermarket hitch is going to handle the installation of the wiring as well. Assuming this generated image is accurate, this looks much better than just a hole cut in your lower diffuser for a hitch to stick out.

Mine was built with the trailering package. I'll share a photo when it gets here.

On my ICE Equinox, it has a nice cover so you don't see it when it's not in use.

I recently picked up an AWD Equinox EV RS - really sharp! I'm looking to put a bike rack on via a hitch and at this point the dealer is backordered since early May and as others have noted, no other options. The factory install is likely the best bet but I didn't get to spec mine as I was an early adopter and took ownership of one that was sent to the dealer. Long story short, I need a hitch and hoping to get one soon from OEM or aftermarket. I'll keep an eye out here if someone knows of the secret stash :)

I just received the Trailer Hitch Part Number: 86580822 sent to my home from ShopChevyparts.com for $680 plus $68 shipping. It took 3 days. My Dealer was not able to get one in a timely fashion. My Equinox EV LT is now scheduled to arrive on June 22-25.

( BTW Do not get the the other Chevy hitch:the Bicycle Hitch Chevy accessory it can only hold 75 lbs. With my 2 45 lbs. bikes and the 65 lbs. bike rack would not work.)

I also got the (3" Wide Tire E-Bike Rack 2 Bike Double Hitch Mount w/Ramp ebike Heavy Duty) on Amazon for $439 it is wonderful it holds my bikes only by the wheels and has a ramp to load the bike.

Can someone please help I cannot get to the hitch installation instruction.
I got as fat as:
But I have no GlobalConnect User Name or Password

Part Number: 86580822 2024 EQUINOX EV | TRAILERING HITCH PACKAGE | 1500-LB CAPACITY | 4-PIN CONNECTOR HARNESS

Instructions in the box is one sheet of paper that state:

Customer Installation:
Instructions are available at accessories.Chevrolet.com but there are none there.

Dealer Installation:
Installation instructions for this accessory are available through the GM Service Information (S.I.) within the accessories Manual section specific to the vehicle Make, Model and year.

Here is the Genuine Chevrolet LT Bezel for Trailer Hitch Receiver install instructions.
Its MSRP is $95 this is very pricey for a piece of plastic.
I plan to just install the hitch and forget the trailer wiring harness install.
and I am going to just cut a 2" by 2”-hole int the bumper fascia and use a 7" hitch extender if I cannot reach the lock pin.

I ordered the hitch on the Chevy accessories site and used my GM card points to pay for it and the splash guards for all 4 wheels. The 21" tires will surely put a lot of mud up on the sides and rear so I'm going to try the guards. The hitch is expensive but the site has a 25 % discount if you spend over $400. I also ordered the interior floor mats and rear mat. I will post photos when I get it all installed.

I have put on hitches before and it varies how difficult. If I have to take off the rear bumper I will probably let the dealer do it if it is less than $300. If more I may do it myself.

I think I’d wait until the dealership does a few installs before getting a trailer hitch. It’s unfortunate this isn’t a preinstalled package from the factory. I do like the simplicity of how they have the wiring setup with a cover just waiting to be removed to plug in the hitch wires. It’s interesting the Optiq gets a 7 pin adapter and the Equinox EV gets a 4 pin.

I ordered the trailer hitch and it is on backorder. Use my GM credit card point and a 25% discount only line. Wonder if the bezel comes with it as there was no part listing on the Accessories site. Anyone have the installation directions for the hitch?

Great news! With the 7" hitch extension and the Rino 3" Wide Tire E-Bike Rack 2 Bike Double Hitch Mount w/Ramp ebike Heavy Duty (on Amazon for $439) the lift gate opens with the rack folded up. This is the first time I can easily get to the back of the car with a bike rack in the upright position

Wow, very nice!

I ordered the trailering package with my car. I have the car but the dealer is still waiting on the hitch to come in. We mostly use a hitch to hold additional gear for camping trips.

After seeing the installation instructions you shared, I'm not feeling great about having the dealer install this. Wish the factory had done it.

How much did it cost? Did you consider the bezel that costs $95?
If you are in Michigan can you share the installer information?
Great job and post of pic. Thanks

My dealer sends the job out to a local Hitch installer. I watched them and they did it by the Chevy instructions and did a great Job!

Thanks
I am in Maryland
The Job took 2 hours at $140 per hour.
No to the Bezel since I only want a bike rack
The bezel, if you can find it, looks like a lot of labor to install
With it there would be a large hole for the Trailer wiring connector
The wiring harness also looks like a lot of labor
I wanted a hitch to support 160 lbs. of bike rack and 2 ebikes and I got it!
$720 for the hitch $280 for the install and $420 for the bike rack was enough to pay.

My dealer quoted me about $450 for the bumper installation. I am probably going to have the dealer install but they will probably required the bezel for $95 as that is what GM will require. I doubt they will just cut the small hole for just to tow hitch receiver and not for the electronics connection.

I live in GA and am buying a 3LT from a dealer in Jacksonville. I wanted the hitch but the dealer won’t install it on a car going out of state for, they say, liability reasons.

I just want the square hitch a class 1 square hitch For a bike rack.

Any thoughts, pros and cons, on bringing it to my local dealer versus going to a hitch place and having them do it?

I contacted a local hitch installer who talked to one of the hitch designers (I just don't know which aftermarket hitch company that is). Current estimate is 3-4 weeks until it's available. They said the design is done and first hitches are made, they are just verifying fitment on the Equinox, Optiq, and Prologue.
