If I wanted to do a cost effective speaker upgrade, what would you recommend? Don't need a subwoofer, just speakers. What brand/size? I had JBLs before, which I liked, but I'm sure there are others that maybe be better.

If you won't be adding an amp go for the most efficient, highest signal to noise rating you can afford, they'll perform much better. I had a set of Focal's and they were phenomenal.

Now that the Equinox EV's are rolling out, let's talk about the sound system. The factory speaker sound system is not too bad, but let's talk about upgrades for those who want better sound. Any recommendations for component speakers, sub's, amps, and installation advice?

I used to install my own upgrades back in the day and I was rather good at it. But with these EV's and their sophisticated wiring systems, I'm very hesitant to do this myself. My biggest concern for me is finding an installer that is experienced in these types of vehicles.

I'm in San Diego if anyone has any recommendations for professional installations.

I'm looking at upgrading mine as well with new speakers and some kind of mini amp. My older car which I traded in had a much better sound. The system Itself is cool. Though, chevy child could enhanced the sound.

I finished installing the tweeters and also corrected an installation error in the door speakers.

Amazing sound. Pure Bliss. Unbelievable... I can go on and on...
The highs are clean and clear and the mid and bass fill the cabin so well.

Very much would love to see. I want to install 6 new speakers a mini sub and amp. Is it possible to add a mini sub woofer. By installing. In the cargo area?

Fyi. I read on Crutchfield if you have a vehicle where Crutchfield has not yet done the research of taking out and replacing new speakers and other components that they will give you at least $350 in gift cards to spend on Crutchfield.

I'll be downgrading from my 2013 VOLT CD player/Bose system to whatever is in the Equinox. What are people doing these days for good audio quality (assuming no more CD players) as far as song file formats, storage and playback??? I blissfully haven't had to care until now...

Apparently you can buy an external CD/DVD player and power it up in usb port and run it if it were MP3 / MP4. I have not tried it. Check out Amazon or Ebay as I've seen them sell specifically for modem car audio systems.

Because the Bose up-level sound system isn't available for MY2024 I consider the sound to be a downgrade from my Torrent GXP with factory Pioneer sub...which I considered absolutely kick-ass for a factory stereo.

About 3 years ago I parted out a Torrent and saved the sub. I threw it upstairs figuring I had a spare if I beat mine to death or something. A few days ago I pulled it out and looked at it, and it's a wedge shaped sealed box with an 8" sub. The amp is screwed to the back of it. Pretty sure I know what I'm doing with this spare sub when I get my 3RS!

Having said that I test drove a 6-speaker Blazer EV (same sound system) and it sounded better than I expected. You could absolutely live with it.

No premium audio for 2024 model year..2025 will have premium sound. With my 2024 model year the audio is just ok. My old 2010 Honda accord which I used as a trade in had better sound quality.

My 2023 Bolt EUV had a "Sun and Sound" option that included a Bose speaker system. I love the sound of it and would not like to lose it with my planned purchase of a 2024 Equinox EV 3LT that does not have this option. Does anyone have more information on the sound quality of the 3LT and maybe even details on the make of the speakers.

I have the 2024 3LT FWD. The sound quality is blah mediocare. Thats the only down side. Though the infotainment system is amazing.. I'm trying to find how to upgrade the speakers and add a mini amp.

Remember the Equinox was to have two different infotainment screen sizes before they decided to drop the smaller screen. The smaller Screen would not have the same features as the larger one.

Does anyone know what the stock chevy 2023 Blazer EV amp is and whether it or the Chevy 2022/2023 Bolt amp is compatible? Also finally, anyone know if the 2023 Blazer EV audio unit is compatible with the 2024 Equinox EV? I found all these items for sale as a Bolt EV and Blazer EV were totaled and are in a salvage yard for sale.

Ten days with the 2RS AWD launch edition.
The speakers are not awful but it is a downgrade from my Bolt EUV Bose. I purchased Focal components from Crutchfield (front ISU690 plus tweeters and rear ICU165 two way). They will arrive next week.
I already tested door panel removal, no problem.
Installing the tweeters is another level. The instructions I got from Crutchfield are for Blazer EV which I assumed would be the closest. No installation YouTube videos.
Questions:
1. Did anyone try it already and has advice?
2. Can I disconnect the tweeters at the door?
