So if I want an EVSE in the vehicle, I believe there is a cutout/spot for the GM version in the storage area.
There are two places to store an EVSE, one as shown in the passenger side cargo area and the other would be in the deep well, 16falcon.

The white EVSE that shipped with some early Equinox EV's came with a soft case that would apparently fit in that spot, but the case for the black EVSE's will not, hence the picture of the 3 parts lose. The zippered case will fit in the deep well.

I can't think of a scenario where I'd need to keep this in the car given I keep the car charged and my normal driving range is way less than the car's range. If I was going on a long trip, then I'd throw it in the back.

I already have a Level 2 charger at home but I think it would be a good idea to have a level 1 charger in the car just in case I need a small charge and I am somewhere where a 120V outlet is available. So if I want an EVSE in the vehicle, I believe there is a cutout/spot for the GM version in the storage area. That would be my only reason to get the GM one.
This is my approach as well. I've installed a third party Level 1 charger which is connected to my solar power system (fueled by the sun! :) ) and a Level 2 charger that is currently connected to the grid (hope to move it to the solar power system in the future). Waiting on my ccs adapter but have not used public charging at this point (3 weeks in).

Quoting myself, but I stand corrected. No cutout for the EVSE. Seems strange though. There was a very nice lower storage area in the Volt which perfectly fit the air compressor, the EVSE and even the warning triangle (required in the EU). I guess I will just keep my eye open for a used level 1 charger on eBay to throw in the car when traveling.

I'm a little miffed that the EVSE (the original white one), when kept in the bag, will not fit in the area where the safety triangle will be. The bag is a bit too thick for the floor to fit correctly. That means moving it to the well or removing it from the bag.

What I wish is that they had made room for a small storage box under the hood that would fit the EVSE.

A bag would work. Cloth, or even a Joes' shopping bag with handles...

My GM EVSE fits in the well when it's in the carrying bag and does not interfere with the floor at all. As I'm not driving in the EU, I have no need for a triangle.

but the triangle is the most stable geometric structure!!
:p

Oh, yeah that's where I keep mine. I'm annoyed it doesn't fit where you have the blue cable.
Mine fits fine in the upper location, as long as the load floor is in the upper position (aligning it with the folded seatbacks):

The bag might be slightly compressed, but it contains the white EVSE:

That also works for me too. Here’s my EVSE in that position…

I want to use the cable that comes with my car and the 240w cable extension. The electrician refuses to install 240w outlet (14-50r) w/50 amp breaker unless I buy the breaker with GFCI which adds $350 to the $450 240V outlet install. I showed the diagram of the cable with GFCI interrupt but he still won't install. I called GM Energy and all they want to do is sell the $599 GM wall charger. There are cheaper versions on Amazon from $175-$250. Sorry if this is a repetitive question. Please help.
Check your local building code, you can buy the GFCI yourself and let them install that one and then replace it with a regular one rated for continuous service after the inspector approves it then return the GFCI… 🫢

BTW, there's a little foldable "foot" to the left of your case, N L. I think it's meant to be upright to better support the cargo deck?
