I think it'll be August or so, NoBugs.
Well looking forward to YouTube test-drive videos with talking heads. And there will probably be a lot since GM is hoping the Equinox will become a "best seller".I think it'll be August or so, NoBugs.
Yes, I expect it will be popular, but I thought the Volt would be too. I know of two people very interested in the Equinox EV (besides myself) who would be first time EV (and GM) buyers.GM is hoping the Equinox will become a "best seller"
I'd settle for 10% off... 😎👍I just don't want some jerky salesperson asking for markups on these. That spoils the flavor, doesn't it?
All of our participation on EquinoxEVForums should give us certain entitlements like an 80% discount on all models, lol![]()
It all boils down to the supply chain as far as the 2 RS availability.I’ll be happy with #1 in line and 0% off like my dealer promised me.
I should clarify that I actually want the #1 build slot for general production, not the 2RS. The 2LT styling and colors are more to my liking, as are the smaller wheels. (Of course, none of my opinions are set in stone since we don't know trim or option pricing.)It all boils down to the supply chain as far as the 2 RS availability.
I sadly agree, at least here in Canada from what I seen with other dealers. Example dealers all got demo models for test drives etc. Then allocations of random colors and trims. Then they call the people on waitlist to see if they want what's coming, if not they call next person in line. Specifically when I test drove ionic 6. They were allocated 4 to start and all 4 allocations was a mix of trims and colors. Not sure if that was just how hyundai does it. But could be similar situation for equinox. Maybe someone else knows more on if this is how it typically works. Please share insight.I do not think you will see the 2RS until 2024. I do not think we will see pricing or any first drive reviews until the fall. The other Equinox EV models will be ready mid to late 2024.
You may be right, but GM shareholders will hope you're wrong. GM has long been announcing a limited launch "Fall 2023" (could be as late as December 20th). According to GM’s Q1 2023 earnings report, the 2024 Equinox EV is still on track. Had they thought they could not meet that target, they would have been expected to inform shareholders.I do not think you will see the 2RS until 2024. I do not think we will see pricing or any first drive reviews until the fall. The other Equinox EV models will be ready mid to late 2024.
We can only hope, a good guess will be to see how they handle the release of the Blazer EV (this summer) release on quantity / time frame/ locations etc. and can probably assume the Equinox will follow a similar path.I have no doubt the 2RS will be released this fall in the US. Canada will probably be early 2024.
I hope GM beats those dates and numbers but I would not be surprised if the first batch of about 450 Equinox EV's delivered in December. I hope demo cars start delivery this year, but it may be January or February 2024.
- How many will be delivered by end of December is another question. For the 2011 Volt, 350 cars were delivered in December 2010.
- For the 2017 Bolt, 579 were delivered in December 2016.
- In both cases, deliveries started in the middle of December.
- All were going to customers
- 2011 Chevy Volt Demo cars started shipping to dealers in January 2011. About 550 demonstration Volts were delivered to Chevy dealers in the first quarter of 2011, and more than 2,500 by the end of 2011.

Chevrolet Volt Customer Deliveries Have Begun
[ad#post_ad]On December 13th at 3:30 PM the first truckload of Chevrolet Volts left the Detroit-Hamtramck assembly plant grounds headed for waiting customers around the nation. And a dream four years in the making comes true. The first batch of cars, of which nearly 400 have already been...www.gm-volt.com
400 to 500 would be more than a few, Mapleev. Regardless, I'm just pointing to two past examples of fall deliveries of a brand new car.I not sure if they release a few Equinox EV vehicles late in December if that would meet the expectations of a Fall release. I
Q1 isn't exactly spring is it? That's how I figure commercial "seasons". Q1 is what's meant by "winter 2024", or "beginning of", or "early", Q2 is "spring", Q3 is "summer", and Q4 is "fall" or "late" or "end of". I suspect that's very common. The number of vehicles isn’t the point if they are released late December. I don’t think that in many eyes that would be considered a Fall release.
Except they have not said Q4 or Q1, they have said the Fall for the 2RS and Spring for the rest.Q1 isn't exactly spring is it? That's how I figure commercial "seasons".
