(Unofficial rendering of the GMC Bronco competitor above)

While GM keeps showing us new EVs from Chevrolet and Cadillac (3 new Cadillac EVs are coming this year alone), GMC seems to be left out.

So far, we’ve only seen the Chevrolet Silverado’s close cousin, the Sierra EV. (and of course the Hummer EV) And that could change very soon. GMC is rumored to be working on a new family of electric crossovers based on GM’s Ultium platform. They will concentrate a lot more on off-road-oriented versions. Basically, at the opposite of what Buick will be doing using the same platform. An electric Ford Bronco competitor could logically come from GMC first.

It will also be competing with Jeep's upcoming Recon EV. Which looks a lot like the Wrangler and will start production next year. I’ve also heard a rumor about GM trying to push GMC to a wider audience. As it is currently mostly a North American product, besides Mexico, Korea, and the Middle East. I think it’s a real shame. Just look at how popular Jeep is everywhere. GM should really take GMC worldwide.

Don't forget the Hummer EV is a GMC product. Also, with the Silverado EV already taking reservations it'll only be a matter of time before the GMC Denali picks up an EV variant.

Yes, we are only seeing the initial wave of GM's EV's, Evan. The GMC Sierra Denali is slated for "early 2024" release. Perhaps a GMC Bronco EV will be second wave for 2025 or 2026?

As you know, GM has an EV roadmap through 2035. If they keep executing the entire lineup will be EV by then. Eventually they will stop producing the ICE counterparts. In the case of the GMC Hummer EV that happened some years ago. But when will GM drop the non-EV GMC Sierra or Silverado? Will it be based on sales volume or something else?

Despite saying all EV in 2035, what if they are still selling a significant number of GMC or Chevy ICE trucks? It will be hard to walk away from the $$.
