How To Get SQBR6 Update
To get your infotainment system updated,

• make an appoinment and request TSB 24-NA-143: Vehicle Wide Programming (VWP).
• The TSB should be done by the dealer any time the car is in for service, or at your request as a part of the B2B warranty. So push back and show the TSB if they drag their feet and try to get out of it.

The VWP involves the dealer checking various modules and updating them. This can take time (hours) if this is the first service visit and there a various modules to update.

2 Step Infotainment Update Needed Too
An Infotainment Update (also referred to as the "radio update") is also needed.

• Per post #22, the infotainment system (radio) is not automatically during VWP (vehicle wide programming).
• The dealers have to do the radio separately with a 2 step process (SPS programming and USB stick).

The second part (USB update) has not been consistently done by the dealer as reported by some forum members, so you have to specifically call this out to the service advisor. Make sure they understand what you want (Radio update with the 2 steps) before you leave or you may find it was not done and you wasted a trip like several forum members.

Plan For Hours
The complete work will take at least a couple hours but some have reported 4 hours or more.

Verification
If the dealer does it correctly, it will show "85876837.mnf" under your updates history. It should also show "SQBR6 151.5 36 release-keys" when you go to the "Settings->System->About screen". See attached pics.

What has been working to get the daler to recognize and install this update?

Do they respond to the SQBR6 86277880.mnf update?

A second radio update?

a second Vehicle wide update?

USB update 2810335?

Is there a service bulletin I can refer them to?

I would avoid making up problems to get the dealer to do the update like suggested by others.

To add to the above, the radio USB programming is called SPS programming. The TSB points out that this should be done in addition to the normal Vehicle Wide Programming.

Per post #22, the Radio programming is actually two steps - SPS and USB. Dealers sometime only do the SPS part and forget to do the USB step. It is important to mention this to your service advisor.

GM established dealerships and since then they have been enshrined into law in all the states. GM can't legally sell direct.

At least they should manage them much better then.

Does anyone have a Radio Software Update TSB for the Equinox EV 2024 - 2025
I have been only able to find this Radio Software Update TSP for the Cadillac Optiq on the NHTSA site.

"I would like to schedule an update to install the SQBR6 infotainment Radio update to my 2024 Equinox EV LT2.

This is done with a two step second Radio update programming using both a SPS and USB step

When done it shows in the "Settings->System->About screen" as Build number:

“Burmese_orange-user 12 W36E-179.1.2-M174-SQBR6-151.5 36 release-keys”

This is finally the GM long promised update with lots of new features including video on the infotainment screen to pass time while parked and charging.

When done the 85876837.mnf appears on the Update and History screen."

Took my 2024 FWD launch edition in for the update. The dealer was able to do it. I advised them that I was requesting 24-na-143 vehicle wide programming for ultium programs. They had the car for basically the whole day and it says in the notes that it took 3 hours for the update to go through. There are some UI improvements and differencesand obviously the addition of apps for streaming. While I was there, I also had them install the windshield dash mat wow does that make a big difference.

My dealers service advisorsent me a message today to bring my car in Thursday to have the SQBR6 installed.
I will get back as to how it went.

I printed out Post #201 above (thanks Geohec!) and handed it to the service manager when I dropped off my 2024 LT2 for its 7,500 mile service. They did the updates correctly and I now have the same status values shown in that post.

One surprise: when I got home I received a prompt to install OTA update GM 652.30 (which I haven’t yet done). Why would I be prompted to update a vehicle that just received all the latest updates? Has anyone else had this happen? Should I go ahead and install the update?
