Lock Settings Question

Ok, I've had my 25 since October. I approach the car, the door handles swing open, I touch the front handle and the doors unlock.

We just got a new 25 for Mrs. Scarlett. Approach the car, the handles swing open, and all doors are unlocked. No need to touch the handle.

I want what she's got!! I'm jealous! I'm obsessed. I've read the manual. Twice!! I've played with all of the menus. Thrice!!! Nada. Somebody got an answer?

The settings and menus appear to be the same. I haven't check the software dates on both, but it seems like a longshot that the locks would be that different. I'm thinking it is something that I'm missing in the menu choices or functionality.
Can't get any pics now, and won't be able to for several days, so just fishing for someone with serious knowledge at this point.

It sounds like your wife's car wasn't actually locked. The handles presented when the fob was near the car, and you were able to get in immediately because it hadn't actually been locked.

Handles out vs. in do not mean the car is locked or unlocked - no bearing. Maybe the new car doesn't have passive locking enabled?

Thanks, I'll check that out.

I tried that out this morning while I had a quick minute. No joy. It almost seems that is the opposite of what I’m looking for. Disable passive locking and everything stays locked. I’ll keep investigating as I get more time. It is going to become time to stop at the dealership and find the trench wizard there pretty soon.

First establish that the car is even getting locked at all. If you walk up and the car is unlocked, that’s not good.

Lock the car with the fob or the rectangular handle touch switch. Listen for the locks to click. Try a rear door handle. Walk well away and put the fob down. Walk back to the car and see if doors can be opened.

As already mentioned, handle presentation and doors being lock are not directly related.

I have purchased two 2025 EqEVs and they behaved the same and as expected. The way the cars were delivered, I must touch the back of a front handle or the fob unlock button to unlock the doors.

Yup. That is next when I have a little more time. It will be a few days before I can get back to this mystery.
