If anyone is interested in the new Chevrolet Bolt, here are the latest details revealed by GM in today’s big announcement.

It is no longer Bolt EV or EUV, it is simply the Bolt and it is patterned after the Bolt EUV. Looks to me like they took a lot of DIC, center screen, shifter on the column, and climate control layout stuff from the Equinox EV. Seriously, for me the absolutely best news is that it will be available in YELLOW!

Love the new yellow color, but for the first year or two its battery will be from China. 😱

I’ll wait for a Made In USA battery. Not interested in sending my money to China.

Damn, this thing looks tiny, and I mean not just the appearance, but the interior. Unless you really are short on money or must have a small car, I would not buy this. I'd go with EQEV or possibly Leaf if you want something a little smaller. The storage space with the seats up isn't enough, the range is just not going to cut it these days when cars have 300+, the infotainment screen seems small, etc. I guess if you don't plan to take this car anywhere far, it's not so bad, but then again, Leaf looks better to me. I know it's cheap for an EV, but difference to EQEV isn't that large. It's like the new Model 3/Y models that are only slightly less than the "regular" ones, which are not priced low enough IMO.
I think if you can get these for 25k OTD, it will be a good value though for a specific customer.

We have a Bolt EUV and an Equinox EV. The Bolt EUV is obviously smaller in size but makes better use of it’s space. In the cargo area, the Bolt has a storage level below the deck that is the same length and width, then below that is another level large enough that people can manage to cram a slare tire in there The cargo area of the Equinox EV is rather pathethic in comparison to the vehicle size. The extreme slope of the rear window cuts into cargo volume

I find the EqEV to be a platform to carry it’s larger battery, but the space up oin the nose, in the cabin, and in the cargo area is not designed to offer any additional useful utility.

Base price is $28,595 with 255 miles range. Yellow color is only available on the RS trim ($31,600 + ~$495 for Yellow = $32,095).

Before the orange clown got elected, Equinox EV was $27,500 with over 300 miles of range and more interior space etc... :(

Would be nice to consider for a first EV - definitely an improvement, albeit slightly over the last iteration of the Bolt (of course, someone's going to complain about the lack of AC/AA) - but we've already upgraded to the EqEV (for the smoother ride and greater range/interior space/cargo) and not looking back.

The 150kW DCFC if true and more consistent over the charge curve, would be an improvement over the EqEV but not the total range. The quote is 10-80% (.7 * 255 = 179 miles) in 26 minutes, which might actually beat the EqEV (.7 * 318 = 222 miles in 38 minutes).

We have a 2017 Bolt EV and the 2024 Equinox EV. Yes, two very different cars. The Bolt EV feels more sporty. it's easier to park, it's great for around town. It's more like a Honda Fit in size. The Equinox is a nicer highway drive.

I like the fun color selections for the new Bolt

A major new-Bolt fail is the removal of the regen paddle, which fortunately is still in the Equinox EV. The paddle takes one-pedal driving a step further to (almost) no-braking driving.

I am well aware of the regen paddle and it’s use in both my EqEV and EUV. I drive OPD all the time; almost never touch brake pedal. I almost never have any need to pull the paddle, since OPD stops the car in time anyway. If the paddle goes away, I may not notice.
