No Regen in Reverse?

Drove one today. When you put it in D mode it stays in place. I put it in R and needed to put foot on brake or would roll by itself. Anyone experience this?

I don't know of any EV, including Teslas, that has regenerative braking in reverse. I suspect this is to help keep the brakes from corroding and seizing for lack of use.

Because the friction brakes are some seldom used, some long time drivers with GM blended brakes advise occasionally driving the car , put in Neutral and hit the brakes hard. This may help clean the rotors and exercise the calipers to avoid them getting "frozen" from non-use. So, lack of regen while in Reverse in the Equinox EV is not a bad thing. Except for perhaps an initial surprise for those expecting regen, it doesn't really affect the use of the car one way or the other.
