Just a wild guess that the Equinox EV will not be getting the OnStar Premium free regardless of trim level,

I know many enjoy an app-filled phone, but I don't need to unlock my car from my phone... YMMV

So GM is building the subscription price into the vehicle. As for needing apps for everything I agree with you. There are still people who have a hard time using their phones for even making phone calls.

No word if this will eventually make it over to the higher trim of the Blazer or Equinox EVs. Even if it doesn't I have no problem using Waze for that matter and a hard key remote starter.

I don't care about most on star items, the only thing that would be nice on the equinox ev is ability of climate control from phone for cold winter months to warm up ahead of time.

When using remote start, the Volt uses the climate control's last settings. So if you expect to be using remote start, just shut the car off with the temp set the way you want for the next morning.

I guess I meant on the key fab, from what I seen it's all done through apps on phones for EV's

Fob-based on my Volt and Bolt EV. Yes, phone based apps can do things too, but I'm ok with using the "low tech" fob instead.
