First, I have 2025 Chevy Equinox anf NOT 2024. I could not change on my profile. I hope admin can help me change.
I bought this car few weeks ago.
First time I drove car from dealership to home I stopped at the grocery store to buy fruits and vegetables. I put bags on the floor behind the driver seat. Next day, I was driving and I felt like lemon or apple just went under my seat. I stopped car on the side and checked under seat and driver seat area and area behind the driver's seat, I didn't find anything. Then, I felt again few days after and felt few more times as the current is passing under the seat. It doesn't jolt me but feel as if current is passing.
I took it to Freeway Chevrolet in Chandler, AZ. They checked wires/cables under the seat; they didn't find anything.
Since they didn't find anything, the technician and rode car together. I let him drive. He didn't feel a thing. Then I drove and didn't feel for few blocks. As I was getting off of a freeway, I felt on my right leg twice. They are keeping the car to see if they can sense that.
It doesn't happen at certain time but every now and then it happens.
Anyone with 2025 model experience that.
Since this is my first EV, I don't know if it's normal or not.

First, thanks for your response. The technician mentioned the same thing. But, we have a small two car garage and we park two cars very close to each other and don't feel anything while in and out of the garage. If it's the vibration, wouldn't the other passenger in the car feel the same? My wife seating on the passenger side doesn't feel a thing.
I hope it's nothing to be concerned about.

No, passengers don't get driver alerts such as the seat vibration. The alerts are used in specific scenarios.

Your post shows no car details. So, please update your
  • account Signature (displays below your posts) and
  • account Vehicle Details (displays below your avatar)
with your Equinox EV details. Please include FWD or AWD, LT/RS. Wheel size is a plus too!

Examples: “2024 Equinox EV 3LT AWD 21” Wheels” or “2025 Equinox EV LT FWD CP2 SC” (CP2 = Convenience Pkg 2, SC = SuperCruise).

It's easy, click this link, follow the instructions How to Add Your Equinox EV Details to Your Signature

In addition to Danny's reference, you can test it out at home by putting the car in Reverse as you back out of the garage or driveway very slowly then have someone approach the car from the side but behind the car and the seat should vibrate on the side that the person approaches.

The screenshot below shows one of several locations in the owners manual that explains the feature called Safety Alert Seat. To find out more about the feature, the owners manual can be downloaded from chevy website on a PC or MyChevy app on your phone.

I really think the OP is feeling the lane assist vibration. He should look down on the left side, below the steering, above the hood release are two or three buttons (I think I have 2, but some trims three?). On the the buttons is the automatic high beam button, the other is the lane assist/alert.

The lane assist would not vibrate in garage etc, but at higher speeds on highway when the senors have picked up the lane markings and the assist is activated more than once or twice (doesn't seem to vibrate on the first "violation" at least for lane assist). DOES activate with forward collision avoidance assist along with flashing red lights and braking.

Above link by Danny Scott probably has more details and more correct than me.

Yes, try turning off the Alerts and see if the "issue" goes away. If it does, it's the seat vibration alerts. If it doesn't then I'd suspect a leg nerve issue.

Infotainment > Settings > Vehicle > Collision / Detection Systems

Another "shocker" can be the jolt ( not electric) you might get if and the automatic emergency brakes deploy. It's a very sudden emergency stop and it can be scary if you don't know what it is. It feels like you hit something. You can adjust this in Settings. RTM

Let us know if it solves the "problem". Just curious to find out what you have described, because it is highly unlikely you would feel "passing of electric current under driver's seat". Do you ever feel anything when holding a wire with passing of electric current? I don't.

Isn't that the warning sensor. There are multiple cameras around the car and if you are getting closr to something or person is approaching, the seat will vibrate to alert you. You will also see on the drivers dash where the offending direction is coming from
It is a safety feature, sometimes annoying.
