How far do you commute everyday on average? It will be interesting to see how many miles/kilometers the average Equinox EV owner will be putting on.

Well... None of us is actually an owner. Many here will break and buy something else, and some (like me) might not like the (unreleased) pricing and will go with something else as well.

My new contender is Mazda CX-5. If after equating the options, calculate taxes, and deducting the rebate, the Mazda will be 5K cheaper, I'll go with the Mazda. My wife and I drive 2000 miles per year (both WFH), so gas is less than 800 USD\year. We mainly want the EV to stop all the maintenance, and not bow down to OPEC's will. But if an EV's won't break even vs the CX-5 after 4 years or so, I'm not getting an EV.

For people who drive 50+ miles a day, it's probably a no-brainer.
@fullycharged, is this roundtrip or one-way?
It varies by which route I go but usually it's around 28 miles combined to and from work.
45 mi round trip 2 days a week, 0 mi the other 3.
45 mi round trip 2 days a week, 0 mi the other 3.
Average it out for daily: 90 miles X2 divided by 5 is 36 miles a day.

roundtrip, the average mileage you'll put on in a day

The must logical thing will be round trip, and average to 5 days.

But if the question was meant to gauge the distance vs range, than averaging to 5 days won't do much justice. I did an average of 5 days. We drive 20 miles, round-trip, twice weekly.
My Volt is just barely able to make my daily commute in the summer. In the winter I've taken a page from the advanced hypermiling technique of pulse & glide. I pulse uphill on my commute using electricity and glide the downhills using gas. I still end up with no battery left when I get home but my gas MPG is averaging between 60 and 70 MPG. Each mile on gas is about four times the cost of each mile on electricity so this saves me money on fuel.
Most of my co-workers telework whereas I commute round trip around 4 miles a day.

I own a Mazda CX-5 if you want any owner info/opinions feel free to ask.

Thanks. I was a tech for Mazda from 2011 to 2019, so I test drove many of them, and know all their (non-existent) problems. CX-5s were great in every year. I'd avoid the CX-3 AWD, they had tranny and condenser (a\c) problems.

I've never driven a 2020+ one... Are they still really great? They're pretty low powered for my standards (my 3.5L V6 Santa Fe has 280 HP)... But I'll live with that for the 25% better fuel economy they get. I get an average of 12.3L\100km combined city\highway, 14 city only, and about 9.5 highway only.

What do you get, if I may ask?
Wow, this poll really surprised me. The vast majority of us rarely drive!

I do alot of highway driving and Average around 10L/100km combined and city 11-12 at max it drives very well no mechanical issues thus far , the only issue I had is the navigation sim card kept causing my info unit to reboot randomly, dealer wanted like 300 plus to replace it . I ordered a sim card of amazon for 20 bucks and it worked ever since.

That's surprising. I remember them much more efficient. Is yours an AWD?

On the other hand, I'm a hypermiler.
