Yeah, my sense is that we nerds on Internet forums already know everything that's been made public, and the folks staffing this service aren't going to reveal anything that hasn't been made public.I like the concept but when I logged into EV Live they gave me scripted answers.
Yes, they will have standard answers to common questions. This helps provide a consistent, correct answer. My experience confirms that, but I was able to jump from topic to topic and have a discussion.when I logged into EV Live they gave me scripted answers.
They weren't able to provide me with an answer when it came to repairing or upgrading the batteries to the latest variants. Is that the philosophy of Ultium?Yes, they will have standard answers to common questions. This helps provide a consistent, correct answer. I wouldn't expect them to be able to answer anything of a promissory nature. For legality/contractual reasons, even if they know, which they probably don't, because I doubt all the details have been worked out, and are all subject to change otherwise. Even us here saying "this will happen or this will be possible" is us just spitballing because we don't KNOW what Chevrolet is going to do and no hypothetical "reasonable person" would expect that we do actually know and even fewer would expect us to be able to make promises on behalf of the company. And if we're wrong about what the outcome is about "upgrades to better battery technology" or whatever the issue is, we'll be sad, but that's about all that will come of it.They weren't able to provide me with an answer when it came to repairing or upgrading the batteries to the latest variants. Give it a try, no guesswork needed, smallb.I wonder if they would be able to answer questions in different Countries such as Canada.
"the Equinox EV has grown dimensions compared to its ICE counterpart. The entire vehicle is 7 inches longer than before, with 9 more inches of wheelbase to bring extra stability and ride comfort. The Equinox EV is also 3 inches wider than the gasoline variant but sits a single inch lower than before."final external dimensions
I went to the auto show in Cleveland. They didn’t bring the Equinox EV. They had a Bolt EV and a EUV. The gentleman working the floor was nice enough to dig around in the tablet Chevy provided him. It did show the 57 cu Ft of cargo space for NOX EV, and some interior dimensions. I asked if I could take a photo of his screen and he politely declined, which I understand."the Equinox EV has grown dimensions compared to its ICE counterpart. The 2024 Chevy Equinox EV Brings 250 Miles of Range for $30,000
Higher trim models will go up to 300 miles on a charge.www.roadandtrack.com
More details coming this summer, so maybe 3 or so months away. It's not that unusual for automakers to hold back details until the official release party. Until then there are either generalities or nothing. My iPhone has a Measure app that could be used on a trade show model, if I had the inclination to attend a car show.
There's another thread discussing the Ultium battery size range. Mention was made of a 50 kwH pack as the smallest. That would be smaller than what's being guessed at for the 250 mile 1 LT Equinox EV pack. Speculation is it would be used in in Bolt-like EV. But GM has said nothing about something smaller than the Equinox EV as yet.It also means something smaller built on Ultium must be coming,
I will finally see the Equinox for the first time in person next month in Manhattan. Hopefully, it won't be some lame "sample for display purposes only" where I spent $20 just to take pictures from 30 Ft away. I can make a reasonable evaluation if I like a car simply by sitting in it within 2 minutes.I went to the auto show in Cleveland. They didn’t bring the Equinox EV. They had a Bolt EV and a EUV. I’ve seen the quote above, comparing how it stacks up against the NOX ICE. I just have a bit of doubt. It would make it about as big (in length and width) as the Blazer ICE. A true midsize crossover, whereas, Equinox has traditionally played in the compact segment.
If that’s true, it won’t fit well in my 3rd garage stall, and I’d be better off with a Bolt EUV.
It also means something smaller built on Ultium must be coming, they can’t have a 190” crossover as their smallest offering and Bolt is going away soonish? Not sure if we have heard any rumors about that.
I’ll just have to be patient I guess.![]()
So far, there hasn't been a show they've let someone sit in one... At least not that I've seen so far.I will finally see the Equinox for the first time in person next month in Manhattan. The RS is to be sold this fall, hopefully, they built some early units that we can sit in. 😇So far, there hasn't been a show they've let someone sit in one... At least not that I've seen so far.
I agree. They don’t have enough pre production models to even supply all shows. Very unlikely it will be available to sit in.So far, there hasn't been a show they've let someone sit in one... At least not that I've seen so far.
