If I was interested in a Tesla (I'm not), I'd wait and wait some more given Musk keeps dropping the prices. I feel sorry for those who bought before the fire sales started. Resale values are dropping with the price discounts.

he must of got my e-mail, he didnt lower prices but he did put up a new standard range RWD in canada and before today only the model 3 rwd qualified for incentives now the model y standard and awd both do. he just needs to lower price a little bit and it be turning some heads for sure

According to a few sources, Tesla is introducing a new trim in Canada (LFP battery, RWD) that now qualifies for our subsidies. Tesla releases rebate eligible Model Y RWD with LFP batteries in Canada, Long Range now also qualifies for rebate

Equinox EV is still top of my list. However...

1) I have not driven it
2) I don't know the prices

If the Equinox turns out to be a poor fit for me, it's nice have more options. I just came back from the Montreal Electric Vehicle Show. With a $60K Model Y that's admissible to $12K in subsidies in our province, even if it's RWD and with reduced range, it becomes similarly priced & in many ways superior to the Audi Q4, Volvo XC40/C40, bZ4X/Solterra or a well equipped VW ID.4, Nissan Ariya, Hyundai Ioniq 5/6 or Kia EV6. Compared to the Cadillac Lyriq, Genesis GV60, GV70 and Lexus RZ, you can now can get a roomy and efficient Model Y for less $.

It's a good sign that Tesla is starting to behave like it needs to compete.

how was the show? see any other interesting EV's?
Versus the Montreal Auto Show (non-EV specific), there were more cars for road tests. One of the highlights was being able to sit in the Ioniq 6 and test drive it. Then again, the Ioniq 6 has arrived at dealers and they are available to test drive there. My brother was glad to test drive an F150 Lightning. There was no Kia EV9, 2024 Hyundai Kona nor Chevy Blazer EV; even if locked, my friends and I would have been curious to see them.

Last year, the Volvo C40 was bumped off my list because it was too expensive for the subsidies and range and charging speed were not the best. Price is down a bit, it now qualifies for the same subsidies as the XC40, it will have improved range and charging in 2024. It looks better than the XC40 and, unlike the Audi Q4, you can add a heat pump. The C40 is back on my list.

A good show at a good venue with many vehicles to test drive. It felt less crowded than the Montreal Auto Show earlier this year.
