Yes, used a code to get my son a Bolt EUV over a year ago. The discount is usually $1,000 but they are currently offering $2,250 off the Equinox EV. The big promotions are usually on their website without needing to login.

How long does it take to get a code and how long is it valid for usually? @jg.

It’s immediate if you’re using the website I showed to get it. I think you’ve got a year to use it, but you wouldn’t be getting a code unless you’re ready to use it, especially since you (or whoever you’re getting it from) only get a handful each year.

Edit: Just went and looked at the eligible vehicles and this is the footnote:
Eligible purchasers using the GM EV Employee Allowance (GEV) qualify for a cash allowance on the purchase or lease of an eligible EV vehicle. Not compatible with some other offers, including GM Employee Discount (GMS). Take new retail delivery by 1/2/25.

Thanks @jg. He is a retired employee. So it will be friends and family mist likely. Not employee allowance probably.

But from your perspective, the dealer doesn’t check where the code came from or how you got it. The amount just depends on whether your “source” was an employee or supplier (I have been both).
Wrong. The dealership will verify. You will need to provide your employer code. In some cases also a letter of employment or a pay stub showing your employer. They are diligent with these discounts.

GM website specifically states GM Family First code MAY be stacked with other qualifying discounts (student, first responders, etc are specifically stated). The dealership cannot argue against stacking.

Got the code. They attach the name of the buyer to it. That is what they asked my friend online.
