I signed on the line today and purchased my first all electric EV. Got a 2025 Equinox 2LT, Riptide Metalic Blue w/ Gray interior. Does anyone have a suggestion for a pick up check list? What should I look for or make sure is in the car beside the charge cord? Any system or accessories I should check out? I also noticed the exterior was really dirty. I left the car at the dealer and I asked to have it detailed before I take possesson tomorrow. Thanks.... JOHN

The car was dirty? Is this car new or used?

I have the same car: 2025 LT 2, FWD, Riptide Blue, Sky Cool Grey interior. I think it is the best in-out color combination available right now., although I wished the exterior blue was lighter and brighter.

Note that on 2025 Equinox EV LT, LT 1, and LT 2 trims, an EVSE (charge cord) is not standard equipment. It would come from the factory only if included as an option. Check the window sticker. Even if it is a used car, get the window sticker.

For new cars, I usually spend a lot of time looking at the body from all angles, looking for dents and paint flaws. Check door jambs, too. Once it leaves the lot, any cosmetic damage will be considered the buyer’s fault. Check tire pressures on the display. My first Equinox EV was handed to me with all tires 6 PSI low.

I ask for it to be charged to 100% if I have a long trip home from the dealer.

If you qualify and are taking a point of sale tax credit, be sure to get the transaction paperwork the dealer can print from the IRS portal. They are required to provide it.

In the first few days of ownership, go though the vehicle settings menus on the center screen to familiarize yourself with what controls you have, and set them to your preference. So many people come on the forum to ask questions because they did not bother to read the manual or go through the settings.

Congratulations and good luck.

Behindbars, Thanks for your reply. Not a "used" vehicle as I am the first registered owner. However, I suspect this was a dealer demo as it has 1900 miles on it. The exterior was dirty as if it needs to be run through the car wash, nothing major. Interior is spotless. I did see the charge cord in the cubby under the trunk floor. I gave the exterior a quick once over looking for dings, paint flaws and even stood on the door sill and checked the roof for any damage during transport. I work for a Honda dealer and do their dealer trades. I have been trained to look at the roof on any new car trade I pick up. I asked for the 100% charge. This car did not qualify for the $7,500 tax credit. But when I got up from the table to walk out, they gave me other "dealer discounts" to cover the tax credit!

There are a few services bulletins for the Equinox EV. They are not recalls, but items that can be corrected by the dealer.

One is for the driver side wiper not going far enough to the left. Check if this applies. The other is for reflections of the dash on the windshield that may reduce visibility if you don't use polarized sunglasses. A dash mat can be installed by the dealer to correct the latter.

If you find either applies, you can schedule an appointment to have them done later.

Make sure they show you one pedal driving, all the different screens, etc. The dealer I had knew less about it that I did.
Make sure they they go through all the options on the infotainment system, hat you are signed to the system with you cel phone and how to customize it with the various apps with your personal accounts like for Waze, Google, Spotify, YouTube Music etc… YouTube is your friend as there is a lot to take in.

Yes, Try to figure out if your telematics module works before you take that car off the lot. I have that exact vehicle. I did not check. Got home, thought maybe I just didn't know all the operating facts. But nope.. I have a bad module ( as do many people if you look it up). Here we are, 4.5 months later, I still do not have a working module and I have no ETA on when I will.

Make sure you go through the first time OnStar call. You can sign up for the extra OnStar trial and cancel it later. Make sure you get you 8 years of free OnStar connections which are different from the premium services. The OnStar connections that come with the car are all you need for the next 8 years. You should load the My Chevy app on your phone and several of the charging service apps.

As far accesories, I suggest a dash mat. Chevy Equinox EV DashPad NEW ITEM!! - VoltShop Maybe your car came with the GM one as they recently released it. Some people like the USB-C cables that have the 90 turn in on the jack. I got the Chevrolet Equinox EV SunShade | WeatherTech . Fit is good. Up to you if you want it or need it. The GM NACs adapter for fast charging and a NACs adapter for L2 charging (hotels on roadtrips tend to be L2) NACS Charger To J1772 Vehicle | AC | UL2252/CSA-C22.2 Certified | The – A2Z EV Make sure you're getting a charger as they suggested above from home. Lots of other good advice in this thread.
