Please help me unlock the mystery of accessing GM Rewards points!

I signed up for the GM Rewards card when I bought my EQEV because it got me an extra $500 off. I have activated the card, accessed the card site and paid my bill. I see I have rewards points that I want to try to redeem.

I click on my points and then redeem rewards. Then I'm taken to a different site where I'm logged in but it says I have 0 points! It's been this way for about 2 weeks now. I thought that maybe it takes a little while for points to transfer from Barclay's to GM, which is never an issue with any other rewards card I've ever had, but it's been far too long. When I try calling the GM Rewards but the automated system doesn't even recognize my GM card or rewards numbers, and then I am put on hold for a long time until the line eventually goes silent but doesn't hang up and nobody ever picks up.

The GM Rewards is starting to feel as scammy and fake as the salespeople on the dealer lots. Any tips for cutting through the BS would be appreciated.

Did you open a GM account when you signed into the MyChevy app? When I click my profile in the MyChevy app, it shows my rewards points and when I click on that, it accesses the part of the account that redeems rewards. Has worked every time and I've redeemed the points I got for my EqEV purchase in April. Not a scam (unless your salesperson failed to properly set up your account).

Note: GM Rewards MasterCard was recently (end of Aug) transferred from Goldman-Sach (Marcus) to Barclay's, so maybe the rewards program hasn't been completely set up with enough customer service reps. Just a guess.

I had a similar issue where my points didn't show up. I had to call the rewards center. They could see my purchase (lease) and could see that they weren't credited to me but couldn't explain why. They made the manual adjustment and the points showed up in real time. The next month, we applied them towards our monthly payment.
Good luck.

Finally got someone on the phone after over a half hour and got the issue worked out... kind of. They said they were having technical problems connecting GM rewards accounts with cards and had to manually credit my account with the points after I waited over 10 minutes.
They said they are working on resolving the roblsm and would get it fixed "soon". In the meantime if I earn any more points they have to manually apply them again.
I think I'll just stick with my other cars that have been rewards points anyway.

GM's system is terrible. You can't even change the email address on your account. If the credit card and the GM rewards account use different emails, things won't work right.

They told me that if the first name is different, it won't work either. Legally I am James, but my rewards were sent in by he dealership as Jim. Thus, no points for me. Until I called and got it fixed.
