I did a quick search but if this topic has been discussed in the past, my search keywords didn't reveal.

Anyway, is it possible to cast my phone's Google maps onto the EquinoxEV infotainment screen? If so, what are the steps?

No, that would require CarPlay or AndroidAuto which GM has decided to withhold :)

... The reason I'm asking is because my car's GPS integration stopped working. Might be a while until I can get to the dealer and from what I can gather the part to fix can be slow to arrive. Another thread on the topic is currently happening. (URL below... hope I did it right!) Also, I just took a look at the Reddit equinox EV forum. People are posting there as well.

Press the OnStar button in your car. If you get an OnStar representative you know the Telematics module is good. If not then call your dealership - they may order this module based on this testing and your past relationship with them. If you get an OnStar representative, reset Google maps in the car. To do this, sign out of your Google account in the car, sign back in and retest. If this doesn't work you'll need to go into the applications area of the Settings and scroll to Google Maps. Once there select it and delete the cache and try again. If it still doesn't work, delete all app data from Google Maps in the car. If this, after logging back in to your google account still doesn't work, then it's time to call the dealership.

1) Obermd: thanks for taking the time to do your write-up with useful suggestions. The URL link I included in post #5 of this thread references that I have done most of your steps. I did post screenshots in the url of the OnStar diagnostic email they sent me. Also the analytics report from the MyChevrolet phone app. One variation is although the OnStar button is red, pushing it did connect me to the operator. Maybe that part of the telematics module is working. But the integration with the GPS isn't?

2) Jupiter: Will the phone's realtime GPS Google maps navigation be duplicated on the infotainment screen? That shows me exactly where I am on the route at every moment ... and gives me voice instructions when nearing intersections? If so, could you summarize the steps on how to achieve? Many thanks.

No the phone won’t cast to the car since they don’t allow you to use CarPlay or Android Auto. What the comment above mentions is just sending a destination to the car, but that doesn’t help if you don’t want to or can’t use the built in nav.
