If someone does this (post#20), please post pictures or a YT video of the above. :)

Here's one I found that looks similar to Reves description (below)
  1. The end of the wiper blade has a plastic cap which is little bit longer than an inch. This needs to be removed and there are two plastic tabs on the inside which must be released.
  2. To do this you must pull out 2-3 inches of the rubber blade on the very end.
  3. When you do this you will see two pieces of metal that extend the length of the blade. When you remove enough of the rubber blade from the end of the blade you will be able to push the ends of the two pieces of metal towards each other at the end which will release the tabs and the end cap will come off.
  4. Slide the new rubber into place between the two pieces of metal.
  5. Cut off excess rubber at end.
  6. The plastic cap will then slide on and lock into place

Video is worth looking at but my method does not involve complete disassembly of blade and does not cause trauma to the end plastic piece.

Thanks, good points. Until someone posts some pictures or video, it's a start

I, too, have been searching for a more affordable source of wiper blades. Sadly, the only two I'm finding are the two already mentioned -- GM Parts & RockAuto. I placed a front left & front right wiper in the Cart on both sites and discovered that the RockAuto was slightly cheaper (around $5). I live in Hawaii, so for me the shipping is the big hit. I tried both sites again, shipping to a friend's house on the mainland, and still had about the same price difference. Just FYI.......

Free replacement GM wiper blades: I usually prefer Bosch blades, but these GM blades have a 24-month warranty. So, choose the cheapest price from the stocking dealers around you - easily done on the parts website or in the MyChevrolet app (my app showed 25 dealers and the price at each; best was $28 a side vs. over $40 retail). Select free pickup. If they wear out within two years, return them to the dealer for a replacement. Cost: $0. This is unlikely to work if you have them shipped, as you'll have to pay return shipping, and maybe get hassled trying to get them replaced under warranty. Way easier talking to the kid at the parts counter. You may even be able to repeat the process, but I'm not sure. Not sure aftermarket blades make sense anymore in this scenario. If you prefer to screw around with $4 Amazon rubber and hack your own replacements (literally), feel free.
