I'm looking to get a set of winter tires/wheels and can't find much info on what TPMS sensor these cars use. Does anyone have this info?

I checked with the dealer, they are 433 MHz, but! You cannot use older sensors, they have to be compatible with the late model GM auto-learning system.

(Edit: according to a GMC forum member, you may be able to get the old ones to connect, but they will stop working when the car gets moving. I half heartedly tried to get the Costco Tire people to give it a try with my old sensors and they said no.)

I'm calling my dealer today to get some, I'll post the part number. Rock Auto says they have one that will fit for half the price, but they only have 3 of them in stock which is less useful.

I am in the process of assembling a set of 18" wheel tires on my brand new '24 EQEV I just picked up 5 days ago. I ordered used Chevy Travarse 18" wheels from eBay, and they are on their way. I have not decided on tires yet, but I will likely use the 18" for both winter and summer. I am thinking of getting a set of All-Weather tires with three mountain peaks and a snowflake logo for severe winter service. Michelin AllClimate2 or GoodYear Assurance WeatherReady2 seem to be good candidates.

Now for TPMS... I thought of buying the OEM sensor (GM Part # 13556202) mentioned in this thread. But at $32 a pop plus shipping, I decided to go with Autel's MX-One programmable sensors. I own Autel's TPMS tool TS508, so programming those sensors is easy. I don't plan to swap the tires once I have 18" wheels with all-weather tires since I hate the 21" wheels and stock Conti low-profile tires that came with the car. But just in case, I will probably clone the ID off from the stock wheels/tires. Sounds like the car has automatic re-learn, so this is not critical. But having the same ID will make sure that I can swap them and will not see any TPMS warning come up. I currently have this set up on our Escape PHEV, and it works great.

My local tire shop had no success getting Autel MX sensors to work and tried multiple times using different methods. Cloning didn’t work, triggering didn’t work nor did programming the car. It might seem like they are working because after the TPMS light is turned off the car displays the most recent valid set of pressure numbers it read (from the summer tires in my case) but after 5-15 miles the TPMS light would come on and pressures would all be blank. When they put in the GM sensors the TPMS worked perfectly.
