There is a lot of weirdness. The latest one I'm noticing is that while I still have the free 30 day connectivity package, I installed NPR on the car. It thinks I'm in Louisiana so plays me the Louisiana NPR. Oh well.
The big news: WHILE THERE IS NO QUESTION THAT TRUSTED DEVICE DOES NOT WORK WITH MY PIXEL SINCE IT NEVER DETECTS MY PHONE EVEN THOUGH THE PIXEL IS ALREADY CONNECTED BY BLUETOOTH, NEVERTHELESS REMOVING THE PIN REQUIREMENT WORKED.
I'm grateful to others for pointing this out. What confused me is that the car would not allow me to do an initial infotainment setup until I created a profile with a pin. I tried to do it without a pin and it refused.
But what I didn't realize is that you can later go into the security settings and disable the pin requirement.
I hope this helps others who may read this thread someday.
New 2025 EQEV owner here (2 weeks old, 515 miles so far). First time posting.
I too had issues with my
Trusted Device and
unlocking My Profile on the Infotainment Screen. (I've had a number of infotainment and connection issues beside this one, but I'll post later on those)
The phone was connected via Bluetooth to the car and could make calls, but the phone was NOT connected under the Trusted Device setting.
So, I finally made a few phone calls to OnStar, and the tech did their magic behind the scenes, and now it seems to be working as intended.
However, using Trusted Device to unlock my profile and the infotainment screen is not as easy to use as I would think it should.
Is it me just being lazy, or should the engineers have thought this through a little more?
- The phone must be on and unlocked.
- The My Chevrolet app must be launched.
- Even with both conditions satisfied, it still take quite a bit of time before it unlocks--I'm just tempted to enter my unlock code on the screen as I'm waiting for it to unlock automatically.
I can understand that the phone must be unlocked and turned on--as a security measure to prevent anyone taking my phone and accessing my Google info in the car. But why does the MyChevy app need to be on too? Isn't it enough that my device is TRUSTED and that the Bluetooth is connecting it to the car? And why does it take 9 seconds (according to my stopwatch) to finally unlock?
Still love my EQEV though, even with the infotainment bugs.
