Hi. I ve got a 2024 Equinox EV. How do you connect to USB to listen to music? I've tried both of the USB C ports in the front with my iPhone and I cant get a connection. I only want to use it in the rare case when the Bluetooth connection doesn't work.

Little late on this, but I loaded a USB drive with a bunch of music and tried unsuccessfully to get it to recognize the drive . After double checking on my PC, I found the info-system had removed all files and replaced them with new folders (music, video, etc). So I copied my songs to the music folder, and surprise, it read and played.

I would try inserting a reformatted drive in first to let the system write the folder files (may take a few minutes), then use a PC/Laptop to copy your music files onto USB.

GM isn't supporting USB connections to smart phones except to charge the phone. You'll need to use Bluetooth.

I have been listening to a USB 2 (I think, older) flash drive on my Acura for years. I bought a USB-C flash drive and they were so inexpensive, I bought the 64 GB instead of the 32 GB. I copied my music to it, and the EQ EV did not recognize the USB-C drive. I searched around, don't remember where I found it, it may be on this site. The writer said Windows 10 will only format a drive that is larger than 32 GB as exFAT (extended FAT) format. The 2025 Equinox EV only reads FAT32 format. There is a free disk utility called Rufus that allows you to format a drive larger than 32GB as FAT32. I downloaded Rufus and you don't install it, it is an executable when it downloads to your download folder, so you execute it from there. I formated my 64 gb usb-c flash drive as FAT32, copied my music to the drive, and IT WORKS! I am not sure how to really operate it yet, I have 4 playlists on the drive, not sure if I can play random tunes within a playlist, but now that I can play a tune, I will experiment.

I formated my 64 GB USB-C drive as NTFS, and that works also.

Thanks. USB ports haven't worked in weeks. No volume, even after adjusting tone controls to max using paddles or knob, though level shows on the screen. Station frequency and favorites show on screen, can't change station. There's lots more screen use required than I thought. Very disappointed. Can hardly wait for winter and fumbling with gloves. Starting to miss my simple Bolt...a lot. Car was almost perfect (except USB) for six whole weeks after it arrived with 471 miles from Chevy dealer in WI.
