He seems very taken aback at the $60K price given the higher price tag feel the car has. Compares is very favorably to cars from Audi, VW, Tesla, Ford that are much more expensive.

 

The DE/23 Pricing was special; to get comparable 24 Lyriq it does go up in price.

 

I'm also very impressed with this model despite not having the chance to sit in one. Although I won't spend $60K on any car you do get a lot for the buck. And it feels like a Caddy from what the reviewer has stated.

 

I agree with the driver's observation that not all EV's need to be a rocket ship. At some point, fast is fast enough. Very few people are trained and experienced driving a dragster. Too much power can actually be a safety issue. It seems the Lyric has plenty of speed with a 0-60 in the 5 Second range.

When I test-drove the VW ID.4 it was no rocketship either. The EQ will probably feel the same way.

 

Would you look at that... It got Android Auto AND Apple Carplay, while still having a Google-based multimedia unit. I guess it IS possible.

Also, rwd-only is a Canadian deal-breaker.

 

Starting with Blazer it won't have Android Auto & Apple Carplay. The Lyriq will have opt. AWD

 

Look up "compliance car" and you'll see a picture of a Mazda MX-30 EV.
