Made by a Chinese company, epic fail. I stopped paying attention after seeing that.

I agree, the dash setup could've been better. Glass roof is ok with me. But those rear seats have like NO leg room. That ruined it for me.

It's cute, but the tiny cargo space (32 cubic feet with seats folded) is a deal breaker for me. My Trailblazer has over 54 cubic feet, and I use most of it on long road trips.

I'd rather not support a Chinese company if I have reasonable alternatives, even if the car is assembled elsewhere.

The EX30 is just a restyled Zeekr X made by Gheely, the company that owns Volvo cars. It's China's backdoor way of gaining a foothold in the US. They would gladly destroy our domestic auto industry given a chance. I'm not going to help them.

Our Bolt EUV is a fine car, and we can easily wait for the next-gen Bolt should we decide the Equinox EV is more car than we need.
Correct. But most likely everything we buy today is made in China. I would imagine even some GM components used in the EQ are made there.

To play devil's advocate I am sure that even some parts in the Equinox EV may have Chinese parts. I remember my Japanese-made Nissan Juke had a rear wiper motor "made in China". There's nothing that we can do.

Certainly it's unavoidable. I'd like to support China with my dollars as little as is reasonably possible. Buying a GM EV assembled in North America, that qualifies for the $7,500 tax credit (so Chinese content has to be low enough), is going to involve sending fewer dollars to China, than buying an EV from a Chinese automaker assembled wherever.

There is nothing about the EX30 that is so incredible and amazing that I just must buy it anyway. I expect the next gen Bolt to be quite competitive with it. And it will have the bonus of being assembled right here in the USA, supporting American jobs.

I'm not going to let the prefect be the enemy of the good.
