I searched Chevy inventory out to 500 miles from me, went to dealers websites that had the vehicle I wanted, called every dealer that had one listed.

They were ALL already purchased in transit. I was bottom feeding, looking for a base LT in a couple colors my wife liked. Avoiding the other stuff, except heated steering and seats. That I would have paid a fair penny for. (once you have heated steering in an EV, I think it will be hard to go back)

You may be right that in a few days dealers will compromise on higher trims if they have several on their lot. But in a radius around Kansas City I did not see any thing close to that many EQEVs on a single dealers lot. 166 on lot is crazy and must be a coastal thing.......
Reach out, get the one you want. I got a car in New Jersey shipped to Illinois in the early 80's. It's no longer an ordeal to get one shipped. Good luck!

$43885 is the MSRP of the one that I just bought. I'm OTD for $28500 plus they threw in a GM Powerup 2 wall charger. (I think GM gave a bunch of these to dealers to sweeten deals if needed, and/or to go with a batch of cars that were ordered with them. It wasn't hard to get that tossed into the deal, a good deal, but I doubt they cost the dealer much.)

You are right, battery tech will continue to improve, and it is looking like a swing back to the left might well happen sooner rather than later. And they would likely bring us back to the world of incentives. Until then, happy driving!

Nice job! Picked one of these up for $29k OTD 2 months ago, without the mud flaps or wall charger. Tax credit, $4k dealer discount, $3k financing incentive (paid off before the first bill), $1250 Costco, $1250 conquest, $500 educator... $17500 under MSRP. Or you can skip the $3k and finance for 0 APR 60 months if that's more up your alley! Didn't think it'd get much better than that, and I wasn't willing to risk missing my chance if the inventory got bought up. No regrets, and i've been very pleased with it so far after 3k miles.

Sticker for me for a base LT with portable charger and delivery was 35,300 Dealer was not offering much of a dealer based discount for that, and in fact gouged me for doc fees and a few strips of paint protectant.

35,300
-7500 fed tax
-2000 GM cash
-1250 Costco
-1250 GM "conquest" or whatever its called when you don't own a GM vehicle currently
- 500 educator discount

22,800
  • 599 bull crap doc fee
  • 899 totally over charge for paint protection

24,298 OTD

We pay sales tax in MO when we tag it which will add 6% or so. I prefer to always factor those out of the deal as it varies region to region.

I think the other poster with an LT with lots of nice stuff for $28000 got a better deal than I, but I got a very nice car for the $$$. I don't think there are any LT out there now that don't have money down already. I had put money down weeks ahead of time, while the vehicle was still in transit.
That’s exactly what I got mine for back in January
Then got the wife a sweet $118 a month lease deal on hers

And, in the words of my old man, "Kid, you ain't seen nothing yet". Wait till about...April....YIKES.
(Again, probably not news but…)
The end of the month is always the best time to buy a vehicle. I also got an additional $1,200 off on my lease with my Costco membership

It is a volume dealership thing. One of the largest Chevy dealerships on the country. As of this morning, they were down to 120 Equinox EVs showing. Good progress, but more work to do. If you are willing to drive, there is a smaller dealership around that has some cars left and I’m pretty sure would get you a similar deal to what t got. PM me and I’ll make the contact for you to help.
